This past week, the inspiring and innovative Learning2Asia conference was held at Shanghai American School.

I couldn’t have had a better time leading passionate educators in a data workshop.  My goal is always to change the stigma of data from tedious to fun.  I had math teachers, humanities teachers, learning directors, learning coaches, elementary staff, and secondary staff – all engaging in new and innovative data approaches. I hope they all left feeling like data adds value, is accessible, and allows for beautiful stories.

As usual, it is the participants, not the facilitator, who add the most value to the discussions.  One, in particular, stood out, who eloquently in one-sentence summed up what we are all trying to accomplish with data,

“The greater value [with data] is in the observations, …conversations, and planning improvements”
